Graeagle
The quaint and picturesque town of Graeagle is the hub of The Lost Sierra. With its origins as a mill town, and under the stewardship of the West family who developed and continue to maintain the town, stepping into Graeagle is like stepping back to a simpler time. The central shopping district lines highway 89 and features the historic red mill houses that have been converted to unique shops and a small office park with business services and a medical clinic. Also located in the center of town are a grocery store, gas station, post office, and various restaurants.
Graeagle offers a wide variety of properties including manufactured homes, custom-built homes, townhomes and new homesites. The neighborhood is a mix of older and newer homes set along winding, forested streets. A greenbelt also winds through the neighborhood and makes even the smaller lots feel as if they are set in the heart of the forest.
Graeagle Meadows is a townhome complex located just off Highway 89 between Graeagle Creek, the middle fork of the Feather River and the 18-hole Graeagle Meadows golf course. This well-maintained complex has mature landscaping and several models from which to choose. The golf course has a seasonal restaurant and is home to both men’s and women’s golf clubs.
Recreation opportunities abound in Graeagle. At the center of town lies the Mill Pond which provides swimming, boating and fishing for residents and visitors alike. Several hiking/biking trails are easily accessible right from town and numerous fishing spots exist along Graeagle creek and the middle fork of the Feather River.
Graeagle is also gateway to the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, a treasure trove of alpine lakes interconnected with hiking/biking trails.
Graeagle is off Highway 89, 50 miles northwest of Truckee, and 60 miles northwest of Reno, NV. The neighborhood is accessed primarily via Yonkalla St., Iroquois St., and Maidu Ln.
